Forests, plantations, sea and fjord

Are you looking for a nice pathway to walk through the beautiful scenery of Jammerbugten - The Bay Denmark?

Then we are pleased to tell you that there are several good maps to choose from that will take you to some of the most wonderful spots.

Among other things, you will experience the forest and its plantations, enjoy the peacefulness of the still Limfjord, or the brisk air on the beaches by the roaring North Sea.

The North Sea Trail

One of the major hiking trails that runs through Jammerbugten - The Bay Denmark and beyond is The North Sea Trail.

The North Sea Trail is a 5,000 km marked hiking trail that stretches along the North Sea coast of Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, and Great Britain. Approximately 90 of these kilometres, you'll find in The Bay Denmark, where they will take you to scenic vantage points along the beach and through dune plantations.

Visit Hærvejen in The Bay Denmark

Hærvejen is 76 km (approx. 47 miles) long and takes you throughout Jammerbugt Municipality, from Aggersund to Alstrup – from this point it heads towards Thise in Brønderslev Municipality.

The route offers a great selection of experiences in nature for children and adults. Discover some of the most wonderful areas in our municipality such as Svinkløv, Fosdalen, Rødhus, and Blokhus.

Take a breather at one of the 18 wonderful spots in the countryside

In Danish, we like to call the 18 wonderful nature spots a “Tankested”, because a visit to one of the spots are a place for thought and reflection.

Furthermore, the places are worth a visit just to experience the beautiful view, tranquility, and beautiful natural surroundings.

The 18 "Tankesteder" are appointed by the citizens of Jammerbugt Municipality.
